All members of the HU community are required to utilize Email for official university communications.

The university supported email solution is Microsoft Office 365. To configure email on a mobile device or computer, please reference the following guide. Set up Office apps and email.

All HU students are required to bring a laptop to class that meets minimum specifications. If you have questions about paying for your laptop please contact HU Financial Aid at or 717.901.5101.

HU's course management system is Moodle. This resource will be used by faculty to relay important course information to students.
All students with a university issued email account will be eligible for Office 365 Pro Plus via Microsoft's Student Advantage.  This will allow students to install and use Microsoft Office on 5 devices (Laptop, phones, and tablets) while they are enrolled in classes at HU. Additionally, Harrisburg University has partnered with JourneyEd to provide educational discounts on additional software offerings from Microsoft, Adobe, and numerous other vendors. Though you may want to check with your instructor, students can also use Open Office or Google Docs for their production needs (word, spreadsheets, etc.).
HU's campus is entirely wireless. In order to get on the network, all laptops must be up-to-date with the latest virus and spyware controls. There are instructions for getting on, or authenticating to, the wireless.

Harrisburg University utilizes the Papercut virtual printing system which allows users to release print jobs at multiple printers on campus using their ID card.
After submitting a print job to the queue, the job can be released visiting one of the multi-function printers on campus and scanning your ID card. Harrisburg campus students currently have access to release jobs on the the printer in the library on the 2nd floor and the printers on classroom floors 10 through 13. 
Papercut Mobility Printing
Papercut Mobility printing is the preferred setup method for all non-HU managed devices. This system currently supports Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and ChromeOS systems. Legacy Webclient Printing 
Until further notice, the legacy method of printing using the webclient will still be supported, but the mobility printing method refrerenced above is the quickest way to start printing. The webclient page for print job management can be accessed at

Harrisburg University is now offering Skype for Business for all university staff and faculty.  Skype for Business is a unified communications platform that will allow you to collaborate coworkers or hold online meetings.  Please view the Getting Started video or for more information, check out some quick start guides.
The university has also setup a test URL for Skype meetings.  This test meeting can be send ahead of time to external clients to use in testing connectivity.
